Don Hammond (Chair) is self-employed by Hammond Resource Management Ltd as an NZIF Registered Forestry consultant and a biosecurity consultant. Don’s career has involved  commercial and conservation forestry, farming, research and aviation. He has been a recreational and professional hunter for over 35 years and is committed to NZs natural resources.

 

Dr Geoff Kerr (Deputy Chair) is a Professor of Environmental Mgmt at Lincoln University and has been at Lincoln in various roles since 1982.
He specialises in scientific research on recreational hunting and game animal management (economics, hunter behaviour and preferences). He is an experienced recreational hunter, tramper and white water kayaker and also competes in adventure races. 

Roger Duxfield is a self-employed dairy farmer and tourism operator as well as a part-time electrical contractor. He is a recreational hunter with knowledge of safety, conservation and bush lore. He has undertaken helicopter work for live capture, venison recovery and transporting clients. He has also worked as a professional hunting guide and in the deer import/export business. Roger is life member of the NZ professional Hunting Guides Association.

Alec McIver is self-employed and a director of McIver Engineering Ltd. He is a past NZDA Rotorua branch president and national president, and has been a keen and active game hunter for 30 years. Alec has bee involved in the possum fur industry and played a key role in the Whio Conservation Project and the Fiordland Wapiti Herd Management Programme.

 

Carol Watson has been self-employed since 1996 and is co-owner of the retail and distribution business, Advanced Archery NZ. She is an archery coach, archery coach trainer, bowhunting mentor and advisor to the outdoor/adventure tourism industry. Carol is an experienced bowhunter and enjoys helping new bowhunters be more successful. She is also the National Coaching Director for the National Archery in the Schools Programme.

Stephen Hall is Director of Operations at Taranaki Regional Council. He has over 20 years experience across all aspects of natural resource management, both as a consultant and local government employee. Stephen has a strong interest and passion for both NZs big game animals and our natural environment and has been a recreational hunter since childhood and enjoy many other outdoor activities including fishing, tramping and photography.

Richard Burdon is Director of Glen Dene Hunting Ltd, the Lake Hawea Holiday Park, and Landward Management. He has a background in deer and general farming, managing a hunting business and professional hunting guides, forestry, nature conservation,  ecological management, environmental consulting, and other land based issues associated with the rural sector. Richard’s is a member of NZ Professional Hunting Guides Association and is on the executive of the NZ Association of Game Estates.

Rachael Dean is a self-employed finance, systems and business consultant plus director and Shareholder in ECE Services and Staff Ltd. She has over 30 years’ experience i across many aspects of accounting, project management, business systems, strategy, property, operational auditing and governance. Rachael has a strong commitment to NZ’s outdoors and in ensuring NZers are able to continue to hunt and make a valuable contribution to the environment. Rachael is a recreational shooter and is involved in a number of firearms clubs as well as being a board member of COLFO.
