Better Hunting is the GAC’s free online hunter education and resource platform.
The Hunting Essentials course is a comprehensive learning programme covering core skills everybody needs to know to hunt ethically, safely and successfully in New Zealand.
It includes things like:
- Navigation – using a map, a compass, and navigation communications and technology.
- River safety.
- Backcountry first aid.
- Survival.
- Gear and equipment.
- Accessing hunting areas.
- Weather forecasting.
- Game processing.
