The Hunting Sector joins Fish & Game New Zealand’s ReWild campaign as a sector wide movement to promote the benefits of hunting, connecting to our wild places, and giving back to nature.
She’s one big, beautiful backyard out there and being a hunter is a ticket to adventure and excitement. Hunting equips you with the skills to explore New Zealand’s wild places, off the beaten tracks to experience some of the most majestic scenery in the world.
Hunting and fishing bring both economic and societal benefits to the New Zealand community, the value of which can be measured in more than dollar terms, but also mental health and physical wellbeing, a sense of community, and giving back to nature.
#ReWild is all about promoting the benefits of hunting and freshwater fishing, hunter led conservation, and connecting to our wild places. It’s about connecting hunters and future hunters to the resources we are incredibly lucky to have and building the next generation of hunters to continue our outdoor traditions that kiwis value so much.
This video is about telling our story. A hunter’s story. Hear from NZ Hunter’s Greg and Fiona Duley; Heritage Red Deer Chair Willie Duley and family; New Zealand Deerstalkers Association Inc President Callum Sheridan and hunter Emma Latu; NZDA CEO Gwyn Thurlow; Hutt Valley Branch NZDA President Trevor Gratton; NZ Tahr Foundation Chair and New Zealand Pighunting Association member Luke Care; Hunters For Conservation and Patron of Fish and Game Dame Lynda Topp; Fiordland Wapiti Foundation Chair Adam Fairmaid and General Manager Roy Sloan; Sika Foundation Project Manager Tim Maule; Biologist Cam Speedy; Hunting & Fishing Napier Co-Owner Tim Gale and family; New Zealand Professional Hunting Guides Association and High Country Horse Adventures in Lake Coleridge James Cagney.
We’re not just taking from the land. We’re giving back – so future generations can enjoy what we do. What’s your story?
